How good is ICFAI?
I have read many posts regarding ICFAI in many forums but still couldn’t make up my mind – is it worth joining or not. Few wrote they got 8+ packages but most advice not to join any such institute which is not AICTE affiliated. What is the true story?

There are many reasons why its not considered among the TOP B schools in india - not being AICTE affiliated is one of them but not the only one. If you expect to score more than 85-92 %tile in CAT then no need to go for ICFAI because most of the inst. (IMI, TAPMI, FORE . . . NIRMA .) that gives a call with these percentiles are better than ICFAI Hydrabad in all respect except the hype and advertisement that ICAFI create on its own. and if you are thinking about other ICAFI centers then go for them if you dont expect to cross 60% tile in CAT. I know one guy in ICAFI kolkata who had scored 23% tile in CAT 2006 with 2, ZERO in DI and Quant respectively. Thats the standard. But I know after 1 year he 'll easily get a job of 3-4 lak that's the beauty of the degree MBA (or the stupidity of companies esp. Indian comp)
